Secrets of the Priory of Sion

The DaVinci Code movie will be released in two days. If you see it, you'll hear about the Priory of Sion, an organization supposedly founded in 1099 and led by such famous people as Leonardo da Vinci and Sir Isaac Newton. For a thousand years, as the story goes, the society has protected documents proving that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and produced children. Their line is the "holy grail," and can be traced to the present. At least that's the claim of The DaVinci Code. What are the facts behind the fiction?

Fact one: the Priory of Sion was founded in 1956, not 1099. Fact two: the documents which supposedly prove the ancient origins of the Priory were fabricated. 60 Minutes and other objective news sources have proven that the Priory is a deception. If the Priory cannot be trusted, what of the novel based on its existence?
