Good news, bird flu, and Jesus

There's good news and bad news this morning. The good news is that the bird flu apparently has not spread among wild birds as much as scientists had predicted. Today's news reports that birds migrating to Europe are not carrying the flu virus. That's the good news.

The bad news is that no one knows what the good news means. Maybe the virus isn't as strong as we feared. Maybe it's dying out in the wild. Or maybe the flu cycle will start again this year and be worse. Maybe the virus will mutate so that it can be spread from humans to humans anyway, causing the much-feared flu pandemic. No one really knows, with one exception.

The God who made the heavens and the earth is still in charge of both. The DaVinci Code claims that Jesus was just a man, but he's not. He's the God who became one of us, so we could be one with him.
