The movie version of The DaVinci Code will be released today. It stars Tom Hanks and is directed by Ron Howard. The Barna Group, a national polling organization, has released fascinating facts regarding the significance of the book and the movie.
According to Barna research, The DaVinci Code has been read "cover to cover" by roughly 45 million adults, one out of every five adults in our country. That makes it the most widely read book with a spiritual theme, other than the Bible, in America. About 11 million say the book was a helpful spiritual document. About two million say they changed their beliefs or religious perspectives because of the book's content. 10 million adults who have not yet read the book are expected to see the movie.
